As a team we organise two events a year, maybe more in the future.
There’s ‘Party on the Green’ which we organise every September, with a BBQ, beer and music. We also ask local businesses if they would like a stall at the event to help us raise money for the bus and park. In the past we have had the Catthorpe Farm shop, the Little Dog Company to name a few, we’ve even had an ambulance from the Regional Medical Services and even a ice cream van too!
There’s ‘Christmas fayre’ which we organise every December, with hot Pork rolls, beer and a Santa’s Grotto. We also run a tombola, that we wouldn’t be able to do without the generosity of our community donating prizes to us to help us raise money. The highlight of the event has to be the light switch on that we host in the green. To see the joy in the children’s faces when we put those lights just makes us realise the whole reason why we do this.
